eigenwallet vs UnstoppableSwap: same network, new name

One project, two names

UnstoppableSwap and eigenwallet are the same project. The desktop app that lets you swap Bitcoin for Monero without an account was first published under the UnstoppableSwap name and now ships as eigenwallet; the rename dates from the 3.0 era of the graphical app. The network of makers and takers underneath did not change, and neither did the swap protocol. If you last used UnstoppableSwap and now see eigenwallet, you are looking at a newer version of the same thing, not a fork and not a competitor.

btc-xmr.com is not the eigenwallet project. We run one maker on that network: takers send BTC to us and receive XMR from us, from the app or from the Swap page of this site (/). This page exists because people search for the old name, find the new one, and want to know whether anything they relied on has moved. Short answer: the name and the branding of the app; nothing that matters to a swap.

What did not change

The protocol. A swap is still an atomic swap: your BTC goes into a 2-of-2 Bitcoin lock, the maker locks XMR, and the two are released together or not at all. If the maker fails after you locked, a cancel timelock of about 24 Bitcoin blocks (roughly 4 hours) opens the refund path; if the maker never locks XMR at all, an early refund applies. The network. Makers register on rendezvous nodes, the app asks those nodes for the list, then fetches a quote from each maker directly. A maker that served UnstoppableSwap clients serves eigenwallet clients; the two names never described two networks.

The roles. Makers such as btc-xmr.com are independent operators. We are not run by or affiliated with the eigenwallet project, and the other makers on the list are independent of us. The project publishes the app; makers publish prices. Our commission on 23/09/2026 is about 1.2 to 1.4 percent over the Kraken XMR/BTC rate plus Bitcoin network fees, with no developer tip on our side; /fees explains the breakdown.

The requirements. Still no account, no KYC, no email, under either name.

What changed

The name and the branding of the desktop app. Recent releases (4.13 to 4.15 at the time of writing) ship under the eigenwallet name.

The official domains. The project's own sites are eigenwallet.org and unstoppableswap.net; the old domain still belongs to the project alongside the new one. Get the app only from those sites or from the project's GitHub releases page, and check the download source yourself. We do not distribute the app and we do not host copies of it.

Nothing else that a swap depends on. The locks, the timelocks, the rendezvous discovery and the maker list are the same under both names.

Reach our maker from the app

The way to reach btc-xmr.com from the desktop app is the same as before the rename: add our rendezvous node under Settings, Rendezvous Points, pasting this address in full: /dns4/p2p.btc-xmr.com/tcp/8890/p2p/12D3KooWBPe3sx6dDqE1RSzeBpH1ayghtBp4cgyymti5rPy79xWz

Then quit and restart the app; the list of rendezvous points is read at start. The step-by-step checklist, the peer-id caveat and what to do if the list stays empty are on /desktop-app, written for recent 4.x releases (4.13 to 4.15). If your app still shows the UnstoppableSwap name, it is an older release: update it from one of the official domains before following that page, and do not take an old build as a reason to install anything from elsewhere.

One thing to know about stock builds 4.13 to 4.15: because of a client-side discovery bug, they show busy public rendezvous nodes as Unavailable, and the maker list can then look empty even though makers are online. That is not a sign that the network went away with the rename. Our own node holds few registrations, which is why adding it works with a stock app.

The app has an optional donation setting for its developers. That is the app's choice and separate from our price; we add nothing on top.

You do not need the app under either name to swap with us. The Swap page of this site (/) runs a taker on our server; you connect a Bitcoin browser wallet (Unisat) to send the BTC, and the XMR goes to any Monero address you give. Same maker, same quote, same atomic locks and the same refund path. The live minimum and maximum are shown on the Swap page. A swap takes about 30 to 60 minutes either way: one Bitcoin confirmation, ten Monero confirmations. /swap-btc-to-xmr walks through the webapp; /no-kyc explains what no account means in practice.
