Swap with btc-xmr.com from the eigenwallet desktop app

Which app

Two names, one program. The desktop app was first published as UnstoppableSwap and now ships under the eigenwallet name, with the same swap engine underneath. This page applies to a recent 4.x release under either name. You do not need the app to swap with us: the Swap page of this site (/) runs a taker for you and asks your Bitcoin browser wallet (Unisat) to send the BTC. The app is for people who already use it, keep their Bitcoin and Monero inside it, or prefer a native program to a browser.

Get the app only from the eigenwallet project itself: its official website or its GitHub releases page. We are not the app's developer and we do not distribute it; we are one of the makers it can connect to. Check the download source yourself before installing anything.

Add our rendezvous node

The app finds makers by asking rendezvous nodes for their registrations. Our maker registers on our own node, so adding that node makes us show up with every route we have (clearnet wss and Tor onion). Open the app, go to Settings, find Rendezvous Points, and paste this address in full: /dns4/p2p.btc-xmr.com/tcp/8890/p2p/12D3KooWBPe3sx6dDqE1RSzeBpH1ayghtBp4cgyymti5rPy79xWz

Click Add, then quit and restart the app: in current releases the list of rendezvous points is read at start, so a node added while the app runs is not queried until the next launch. After the restart, open the Swap page of the app; our maker appears in the offer list once the app has fetched our quote, usually within a minute, longer over Tor.

The address has two parts and both matter. Everything up to /p2p/ says where to dial; the string after /p2p/ is the peer id, and the app drops the connection if the node that answers does not hold that id. Copy the whole line, with no spaces, from this page or from How it works (/how#desktop), never from a forum post.

If the list stays empty

Wait for Tor. On first launch the app bootstraps a Tor client, and discovery over onion addresses waits for that. Give it a couple of minutes before you conclude that a node is broken.

Check the version. Stock builds of the app cannot decode a discovery answer once a node's list of makers grows past a small size limit; the app then marks that node as Unavailable and most of the makers registered there never appear, even though they are online. The busy public nodes are affected. Our node holds few registrations, which is why the step above works with a stock app. We have written a client-side fix and are submitting it upstream.

Peer id, not a multiaddr. A maker's peer id alone (the 12D3Koo... string) cannot be added as a rendezvous point. The field takes a full multiaddr. If you were given only an id, you are missing the dial part.

A maker with no quote. The app lists a maker only after fetching its quote. While our Monero is locked in a running swap we may publish a smaller maximum, or no quote at all, until that swap settles; the list then looks shorter than expected or empty. Try again a few minutes later.

Still nothing. Our node is reached by plain TCP on port 8890. A network that blocks outbound connections to unusual ports (some office or campus networks) blocks it too. Use the Swap page of this site (/) instead: it needs only a browser and port 443.

App vs webapp

Same maker, same price. The maker behind btc-xmr.com is the one you add above; it serves one quote to every client, whether the app or the Swap page asks. On 23/09/2026 that quote is a commission of about 1.2 to 1.4 percent over the Kraken XMR/BTC rate, plus the Bitcoin network fee, with no developer tip on our side. The minimum and maximum change with our inventory and are shown live on the Swap page (/).

One thing the app adds on its own: it asks you to pick a voluntary donation to its developers, as a percentage of the swap. The default is none, and it is the app's choice, not ours; our price does not contain it.

The difference is where your keys are. In the app, the swap runs on your computer; the BTC comes from the app's own Bitcoin wallet and the XMR goes to a Monero wallet the app manages (or an address you choose, depending on the release), so refunds and recovery are handled by software you run. On the Swap page, the taker runs on our server and the BTC comes from your own browser wallet; the XMR goes to any Monero address you give. Both are atomic swaps with the same locks and the same refund path; see How it works (/how) for the timelocks.

Duration is the same in both: about 30 to 60 minutes, set by one Bitcoin confirmation and ten Monero confirmations, not by the client you use.
